Wild Moccasins - Gag Reflections [7"]
- 7" black vinyl
“Gag Reflections” was written while Wild Moccasins were overseas last year, and as the band’s singer/guitarist Cody Swann recently told the Houston Chronicle, the song was built from the opening riff by guitarist Andrew Lee. “We instantly fell in love with that riff,” he says. “It’s one of the first songs from this newer batch that we’ve developed. We thought it was a strong song to show people where we’re moving with the new record.”
The b-side of the record is a whimsical cover of “Summer of Love” which the band was inspired to record after playing a B-52s cover set. “That was one of the most fun shows we've ever done,” explains Wild Moccasins’ Zahira Gutierrez. “It felt right to try and capture that experience on record." Both “Gag Reflections” and “Summer of Love” were recorded at SugarHill Studios in Houston, produced by Steve Christensen and engineered by John Griffen.
